Isabelle Renaud works and lives her art in the Eastern Townships. A graduate in fine arts and computer graphics, she is currently completing a multidisciplinary BA at the University of Sherbrooke in visual arts, education, and multimedia. Isabelle is a graphic designer for a number of years, enabling her to inject a touch of digital technology into her art, which is multidisciplinary in nature. Thus, her works are characterized by the synergy between photography, drawing, painting, computer graphics, and occasionally installation.
The artist centers her research on the movement, which is rendered as much by the subject matter as by the artistic gesture. Her creative universe is inspired by human mechanics and architecture, enabling her to experiment with the construction, deconstruction, power, and fragility of the images. The transformation of the known models and multiple levels of perception reveal a plastic and poetic sensibility emerging from the work. The experience of the images altered in this way allows us to rediscover sequences of life tinged with a light surrealism.
“Coeur des toiles” stems from the motivation to paint, in the same space-time dreamlike and tangible aspects of life. The subject matter is inspired by the design of human life, the spiritual anatomy of the heart, which is the body and engine of the essence of life.
The drawings and paintings that are shown derive their strength from the flowing lines on the canvas. Where the colors blend together, the visitor will discover bright pigments that clash with nebulous background textures. The aesthetic quality, the range of contrasts, the subtle colors that emerge help to reveal images of another world, which the viewer can question at will. Please accept this invitation to get carried away after experiencing the journey where flesh and soul come together in a lyrical setting.
