Imagine a trip around the world in streams of color eternalized on canvas and paper as seen with the eye of an artist and executed by brush, pastel sticks and pen.
The exhibition,” Cosmos-Artists’ Personal Voyage”, is an opportunity to bring together a body of work portraying the captivating landscapes and portraits unique to different cultures of the countries visited over the years. It is an Iconic interpretation of the beauty and harmony that could exist in the world that we live in, regardless of geographical, political and religious differences.
Her travels have permitted her to meet different people, live and experience their culture, absorb and admire the beauty of the different landscapes, enriching her artistic endeavors, and bringing home unforgettable memories that have changed her as a person and as an artist.
Sketches and photographs during her travels to Europe, (Greece, Italy, England, Portugal, Malta, Turkey), and the Far East, (Jordan, Saudi Arabia), as well as the Virgin Islands (St-Croix) and Canada, have enabled her to create this body of work over the years, shown in this exhibit “Cosmos-Artists’ Personal Voyage”.
She is privileged to be able to share her vision of beauty, experiences and memories of these enchanting places.
Native of Crete, Georgia Priniotakis (Kalas) has been an active artist since 1984, creating paintings of realistic nature. Drawn towards the arts since childhood, Georgia has worked with different media such as watercolor, acrylic, oil, soft pastel and ink.
Vibrancy and transparency are depicted in the seasonal changes of her landscapes, flowering gardens and tranquil patios.
Georgia is a signature member of the Pastel Society of Eastern Canada, founder member of the Artists’ Association of Saint-Laurent, and President and Exhibitions Coordinator of the Artists’ Association of Dollard. She has participated in group exhibitions and has won numerous awards and distinctions for her paintings the latest’s been, “Honorary mention” in “Concours d’Art de Pierrefonds-Roxboro art contest’’ in 2014, and first Prize Award fall exhibition Saint-Laurent Artists’ Association.
She participated in “Artists in Residence Program”, July 2 to September 30, 2013, in Coaticook, Québec, and gives workshops of Soft Pastel in the region, and in Montreal.
She is listed in, the Magazine d’Art, “Biennial guide to Canadian Artists in galleries”, “Lexicon” of Greek Artists vol. #2, the “Le Pluralisme dans L’Art au Québec”, and the “International Contemporary Artistes” Vol. IV.
Georgia has been an active participant in the Shield of Athena art auction for the past twenty years.
The grand opening will be held on the 14th of june 2015.
