Évolution de la conscience

SORiaN
January 29th to March 12th 2017

SORIAN defines his style as visionary philosophical surrealism. As a painter, his focus is on abstraction, on the conceptual, the visionary and the surreal. His art is an art which speaks of freedom and liberation, of courage and authenticity. Archetypes, ideas, metaphors of this world and the vastness of the soul are the sources and pillars which he relates to in his paintings. He requires the presence, the attention and the participation of the observer and invites him to go deep within himself and embrace himself in order to be eyewitness to this new emerging world.

This exhibition is based on his nucleus and of a long-term study which he began a few years ago on the evolution of consciousness, in his various hypostases of perception, levels of development and refinement, in his antagonisms, his distress and enjoyments. A project which he writes with each painting he creates, the history of our steps and journey towards growth in our lives, the history of seizing and recognizing others and  having peace with one and all. The history of letting go which brings us closer to detach ourselves of our fears, anger and hatred, our weakness and our greed reasonably disguised to be socially acceptable.

SORiaN is a Canadian artist born in Romania who lives and works in Montreal. He studied art at Piatra-Neamt (Romania, from 1984 to 1992) at the School of Fine Arts, as well as philosophy (Romania, from 1997 to 2001). He is Ambassador for Canada of Mondial Art Academia with the rank of Officer, member of the Canadian Society for the Art of Imagination and member of the Circle of Artists and Sculptors of Quebec (CAPSQ).

He has participated in numerous exhibitions and won several awards. Most recently, he won the CAPSQ Gold Medal at the 32nd Gala Competition at the Brancusi Cultural Center in Montreal for his creation "The Psychedelic Clown" (SORiaN - Oil on canvas - 2015 - 24 x 24 inches).

The grand opening will be held on Sunday the 29th of January at 2pm.
