Instantly fascinated by what she saw on television regarding the art of creating realistic infants, Lucie Corriveau decided to undertake this project. Each moment spent in her workshop is an immense pleasure and a constant challenge in crafting each doll to look almost lifelike. The least details are important such as the size, the length, the weight, the hair (which are put in on by one), the eyelashes, the eyes, the sex, the colors and shades of the skin, the small beauty mark, the pinkish hue of a baby, nothing is left out in order to give them life, or at least on the face of things. Quote: “If you give me a photograph of a baby, showing all his characteristics, I am able to recreate him just like an artist would on a canvas”.
Lucie Corriveau comes from Asbestos but grew up in Wotton. Her interest in arts took her within a world of creation through training, working with water colours as well as interior decorating. In 2010, she studied in France with renowned artist and teacher Mrs Mireille Legris who specializes in the creation of “re born “infants. Moreover, she is a member of the artistic group called “Coatic’Art”.
The exhibit will include a diversified collection with creations from different origins.
